The best places to visit

Concurring my fear of roller coasters T oronto is a cool city. I have passed through numerous times but never really took any of it in. I was lucky to have tour guides this time as I stayed with Erin and Steph, whom I met on a train from Krakow to Budapest. They are a lot of fun and great hostess’s. I saw a lot in Toronto and had a blast. My favorite sights were the hockey hall of fame, center island, and Canada’s Wonderland. The Hockey Hall of Fame was very cool, so much history, information and games. I was like a little kid in there. I could have spent hours reading stats and stories but didn’t want Erin to sit through that. The hockey masks through the years were sweet and I got to see the original Stanley cup. Center island is a great escape from the big smoke. We headed out to watch some wake boarding competitions but were pretty slow moving from the night prior. Although it's only the third-most-popular meat in America (being beaten out by beef and chicken), pork is nevertheless the most popular meat worldwide. China is the largest pork consumer — but would you guess that Canada is the largest pork producer? I learned all of this at the beginning of a new tour offered by Urban Adventures in Toronto — their “When Pigs Fry” tour of Toronto, which focuses on the city's long history as a pork capital. (There's a reason the city used to be nicknamed “ Hogtown ,” you know…) Our tour began outside the Flatiron building at the corner of Church, Wellington, and Front streets in downtown Toronto. I must start this post by admitting that I am in no way a “foodie”. I don’t care about fancy restaurants, bizarre food combinations or trying delicacies. I basically eat for fuel the majority of the time. I am, however, quite a fan of beverages. No, I’m not an alcoholic 😛 It’s just I’m more likely to get excited about a cocktail or a smoothie than a meal. If I could live on nice liquids I probably would. Don’t quote me on that when I’m stuffing my face with cake though. That being said, here are some of my favourite food and drink offerings from around the world. PERU   Coca tea, I may have been addicted. Nothing to do with the fact that it is just cocaine leaves in water, of course. Chewing the leaves was amazing for altitude sickness also.
